As easy as it may be to set up a golf simulator inside the house, there are still minimum requirements for players to experience the gadget at its full potential. The materials, along with the golf simulator, need enough space in your room to work properly and prevent any accidents that may cause an injury or damage to property.

Impact Screen
An impact screen also serves as the projector screen. With this, it is helpful to have a screen dimension that can allow a high-definition display for more immersive gaming. It can be either a flat or curved screen, but you should choose what is right for you.
The recommended screen has a ratio of 16:9, which is the standard for full HD or higher resolution displays. With this ratio, the minimum dimension can be a width of 13 and a height of 7.7 feet. If you have an aspect ratio of 4:3, which is has a squarer look, you can have at least a dimension of 10×7.7 ft.
For a perfect aspect ratio, make sure that it matches the aspect ratio of your projector.
Projector
This device itself does not take up that much space in the room. However, it needs a sufficient distance from the screen for a perfect projection of light on the wall.
Normally, each projector brand requires a minimum distance from the screen indicated in their manuals. For a general overview, a good throw distance or the distance between a projector and screen should be from 8 to 10 feet. Consider the projection quality that can only be adjusted by moving the projector.
Golf Simulator
This device also does not take a lot of space, but, just like our projector, it requires a certain distance from the object it monitors. In this case, the full swing movement of the player. Usually, take at least 1.5 feet of the simulator from the hitting area to avoid collision. The gadget’s position, the golfer’s, should also be 8 feet far from the screen for optimum performance.
Golf Enclosure
A good golf simulator enclosure should take the whole impact screen inside it. This is helpful to prevent the golf ball from impacting the room’s sidewalls. For a minimum size of 13×7.7 ft of the screen, the enclosure should have at least the same dimension for the frame and a depth of 5 ft.
Mat
This can be arbitrary as you may choose to cover the whole floor with a grass mat or only a portion of it. The bare minimum for area coverage should accommodate the distance between the screen and the player. So, a recommended length is 9 ft.
With all these minimum spaces required for each material within the golf simulator room, you can take at least 1 ft as a buffer distance. This is the distance of the wall from any outer equipment. With all things considered, a good room should be at least 15 ft wide, 9.5 ft high, and 16 ft long.
